Becky and James chose Monkton Barn near Marlow for their wedding and it was the perfect location for a relaxed barn wedding. It was my first visit to this beautiful wedding venue and it is a hidden gem with a fantastic view.
On the morning of their wedding, it was a hot and sunny day and I met Becky at her home for the bridal preparation. I have said before, but this is such a lovely part of the day to photograph. I can get creative with all the pretty bridal details and also enjoy capturing the Bride with her best friends getting ready.
Despite a hic-cup with the car, Becky arrived at Monkton Barn looking stunning accompanied by her father. It is such a special moment between a father and daughter and I often see tears and raw emotion on the day.
Following the ceremony, everyone headed to the nearby fields beside the barn for drinks and wedding games. When I say games, this was on a scale I have not seen before with a golf chipping match, gigantic jenga and a unique mini golf course built by James’s father. I was so impressed with the detail in the mini golf course.
We booked Mary because at our first meeting with her we felt relaxed and at ease. Mary has produced so many beautiful, natural images of our relaxed barn wedding it’s difficult to choose which ones we will keep! So many of our guests commented on how hard-working and unintrusive she was on the day. We would wholeheartedly recommend her.
After the meal, James and Becky and I headed to the nearby fields for some golden hour wedding portraits before the evening party began.
If you are looking for a barn wedding venue in Buckinghamshire, take a look at Monkton Barn and get in touch, I really would like to return.
