Wedding at Kingston Maurward

Victoria and Pete had planned a beautiful wedding at Kingston Maurward and Southover House, two beautiful Dorset wedding venues.  Although Dorset is not on my doorstep, I was happy to travel to photograph their wedding at such gorgeous places.

Victoria and Pete had hired Southover House for the weekend and had planned a relaxed marquee wedding reception in the grounds.  I met Victoria on the morning of the wedding at Southover House, a grand manor house near Tolpuddle, Dorset and I enjoyed capturing all her pretty wedding details as well as some informal shots of the busy morning activities.  Their dog, Teddy, a very cute Spaniel was a little bemused by all the activities and was to play a big part in their day by being ‘page dog’. Although I did like Victoria’s comment that Teddy was going to be Best Man/Dog but they decided he couldn’t be trusted!

Victoria looked stunning in her wedding dress from Surrey Brides and after taking some bridal portraits I headed off to Kingston Maurward where the outdoor ceremony was to take place.  Kingston Maurward is a beautiful 18 century Mansion House wedding venue with extensive grounds and Victoria and Pete had chosen to be married in their sunken Red Garden outdoor ceremony area with music by Keysworth String Quartet .  It was a sunny, bright day and pretty hot for a September wedding.  After the ceremony, Victoria and Pete and their dog, Teddy walked from the ceremony area to the steps near the house for group shots.

We were running short of time before we were due to travel back to Southover House for the wedding reception but Victoria and Pete were keen to take advantage of the beautiful grounds so we walked down to the Grecian temple in the grounds for some couple shots before we all drove back to Southover House.

The marquee by Marqco marquees looked amazing and Victoria’s attention to detail was evident throughout the day.  They had set up mini golf in the garden for their guests and it was a relaxed and beautiful wedding and fun to photograph.

A big thank you must go to Ann Aveyard my talented second photographer on the day who captured lots of great shots of Pete and his groomsmen and candid shots of guests while I was busy with the group shots and bride and groom portraits.

I would love to return to photograph a wedding at Kingston Maurward or Southover House and if anyone is looking for a beautiful venue in Dorset please get in touch.
