I was very happy to be booked to photograph Caroline and Phil’s summer Stoke Park Wedding. Stoke Park Club is a stunning Buckinghamshire wedding venue, just outside Stoke Poges.
Phil is a member of the Stoke Park golf club, so they had an early start for a game of golf with his family and friends divided into bride and groom’s teams. After capturing a few of the golf photos I spent most of the morning with bride Caroline who was getting ready in the main house in a room with beautiful Georgian windows and lots of light streaming in.
Stoke Park has been used in several movies, you may remember the game of golf between James Bond and Goldfinger or Bridgit Jones’s Diary where they filmed the ‘mini break and rowing scenes’. We took some photos in the Pennsylvania Suite and then used one of the formal rooms to capture the bride with her Mum and flowergirls and page boys. Organising eight children in a group photograph with the Bride was no easy task and one of my favourite images is Caroline trying to catch one of the escaping flower girls.
The ceremony was at St Giles’ Church, a beautiful old church just a few minutes from Stoke Park.
Caroline and Phil had wanted most of the day to be captured in a documentary photography style with only a few group shots. For some couple shots, we drove the golf buggies down to the picturesque bridge on the golf course. There are lots of beautiful spots for photographs in the grounds and around the hotel, a truly stunning wedding venue and one of my favourites in the area.
It was a sunny July day, and they decided to do the speeches outside before the wedding breakfast. Such a great idea I think.
A fantastic location for a wedding, please get in touch if you are considering a Stoke Park Wedding.
